Welcome back! AHS IT updates and resources for the new academic year

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Welcome back to campus! As we gear up for another exciting academic year, the AHS IT department would like to warmly welcome our returning and new faculty and staff members.

What's New?

We've worked hard over the summer to ensure a smooth and productive experience with our technology resources. Here are some of the key updates:

  • Windows 11: AHS-IT is deploying Windows 11 on all new computers. Later this year, we will begin scheduling upgrades for computers that are currently running Windows 10 and can be upgraded to Windows 11. More information will be released soon.
  • Classroom Upgrades: With the help of the departments and Pace Systems installers, we’ve upgraded the classroom technology in the following rooms:
    • AHSB 269, 216, 301, 409, 706, 717, and 722.
    • DHSP 704 (note: DHSP 204 and 448 still pending)

IT Support and Resources

We understand that technology plays a vital role in your day-to-day activities, and we're here to support you. Here are some ways you can reach out to us:

  • Help Desk: For any technical issues or support, please get in touch with our Help Desk by submitting a ticket here: help.uic.edu/ahs
  • Classroom Support: We will have FTE Helpdesk technicians stationed in PEB and DHSP for the first two weeks of the semester. After that, our student technicians will remain stationed in those buildings for emergency classroom issues.
